MOSQUITO CONTROL TECHNICIAN

SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT

Checks for known or potential mosquito breeding sites for the presence of larvae or adult mosquitoes. Applies insecticides by spraying control measures to reduce/eliminate the potentially disease-bearing and nuisance mosquito population in Marion County. Must be 18 years or older, have a valid driver’s license, and have a good driving record. Skills in map reading and knowledge of the general layout and directions of main streets and highways in the county are essential. Ability to follow instructions in the proper use and dispensing of chemicals; and to properly operate monitoring equipment in accordance with accepted safety/operating standards. Able to display courtesy in response to public inquiries and complaints.
